Real Madrid's interest in André Gomes seems real, as Valencia-based newspaper Superdeporte confirmed yesterday's reports which suggested that the Portuguese midfielder could be an option to add depth to Madrid's midfield. While Valencia certainly don't want to sell their best player for less than €60 or €65 million, Gomes' agent Jorge Mendes is trying to work on a deal between both clubs.
Valencia and Madrid don't have a good relationship, so a move for Gomes seems quite unlikely. He's a promising player and could develop into a good long-term replacement for Modric, but Florentino Pérez will not spend that much money on him this summer, that's for sure.
Other big clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea or even FC Barcelona appear to have interest in Gomes, if Tuesday's report is accurate. Juventus offered €40 million but Valencia rejected said offer as they are not willing to sell their best player for that kind of money.
